something personal, somewhat to do with work...

So, last Thursday I am at work... doing work, of course... I'm talking to a potential client about his firm and their IT needs.  I give him my pitch, tell him what we do, how we can become their IT support department and take the technology burden off them.  He's somewhat interested, but of course, in this day and age they already have a vendor they work with (because there is maaadd competition).  Anyway, he starts asking me questions and much is technical, for the most part I know what he is talking about and have rebuttals, but after our conversation it dawned on me...

I need to go back to school! And not only do I need to get my Bachelors but I want to get my Masters too! Very odd, especially the fact that I have been putting school off for the longest time, not wanting to go, not feeling like I need to, but now I WANT to and go longer than I have to. I've made the decision to go back beginning in 2012 and I'm excited about it. Going to major in Info Systems, concentration in Info Systems Security.  I even know I want my Masters in Business with a concentration in Network Management. Not only will I be learning things I've always had a love for, I'll be able to put it to great use right here at eGuard. I'll be better equipped to go toe-to-toe with CTOs, CIOs, Directors of IT, etc...

January 2012... just bring it...

  1. I am overwhelmed with joy! You are an INTELLIGENT young man who has a GREAT personality. You were my inspiration. I am happy that you have decided to go back to college but I am glad you are doing it when you were ready. When you realized what drives you and how an education will help you succeed. Look at how much you have accomplished alone without a bachelors. I can imagine how much more you will accomplish with higher education. I'm your #1 fan, well #4, your parents, sister, and girlfriend comes before me. LOL!! I wish you all the best. :-)
